Goats Milk - Goat's milk is prized for it's healing and restorative properties. It has been used for centuries as a luxurious beauty aid. The goat's milk in our products comes directly from our own Nubian dairy goats. Our herd feeds on open range grass and is supplemented with grains and high quality alfalfa. Nubian goats are renowned for the high butterfat content of their milk, which makes for a wonderfully rich addition to our products.
Goat's milk contains capric acids and naturally occurring triglycerides which when used in soap, results in a lower pH level than that of most brand name soaps. The lower pH level is much closer to that of human skin. Proper pH balance of the skin is important in protecting the skin's own protective layer - the "acid mantle". When this is stripped away by an alkaline product (most commercially available soaps), the natural pH balance is lost and dry skin is the result. Without the protective acid mantle layer, skin is unprotected from weather and the environment. The skins oil glands react to the imbalance and begin secreting oil to compensate, which results in excess oil and clogged pores.
Using our goat's milk soaps and lotions will help skin maintain it's own natural protection and aid in moisturizing as well. Goat's milk contains important vitamins, minerals and nutrients. It is rich in alpha-hydroxyl acids which are restorative and rejuvenating for the skin. It contains essential proteins, amino acids and vitamin A which nourish the skin. Goat's milk contains beta-hydroxyl acids which exfoliate old skin cells while soothing and softening. It is mild enough to use on sensitive skin and has healing properties for problem skin.
Lanolin - Lanolin is one of the oldest, time-tested skin protectant known to man. Since the time of the ancient Greeks, the beneficial properties of lanolin have been known and used. Lanolin protects skin the same way as it protects the sheep's wool from the harshness of the weather and environment. Lanolin is absorbed by the stratum corneum where it binds with water, reducing excess moisture loss and contributing to softer, more supple skin. Lanolin is a natural protective coating whose chemical make-up has yet to be duplicated by chemists.
Sweet Almond Oil - Sweet almond oil is extracted from the dried kernels of the almond tree. We use it in our soaps and lotions for it's penetrating qualities. It is an excellent emollient and helps the skin maintain it's moisture balance. Sweet almond oil is light and non-greasy. It contains vitamins, minerals and protein, as well as mono and poly-unsaturated fatty acids which all contribute to the oil's ability to relieve skin dryness, itch and irritation. Sweet Almond Oil is the major oil used in our soaps, lotion bars, lip balms and Beeswax Hand Creams.
Shea Butter - This butter is expeller pressed from the seed of the Karite tree in West Africa. Considered a luxury butter, it provides for moisturizing as well as enhanced cell regeneration. Olive Oil - Olive oil is good for the body whether it's applied to the skin or has been ingested through salads or other foods. It's actually been a guarantor of health and beauty since early times. Olive oil has been recognized for centuries by people of the Mediterranean for it's benefits to the skin. The oil's fat composition is very similar to that of human skin, therefore it doesn't cause allergic reactions. It is absorbed quickly and doesn't leave a greasy film behind. Olive oil helps lock moisture into the skin. The higher proportion of unsaturated fat and Vitamin E work wonders on sensitive skin. An expensive oil; it is worth it's cost in benefits. We use olive oil in our soaps to produce a superior, long lasting bar of soap.
Palm Oil - Palm oil is a mild oil used in our handmade soap's to contribute to the soaps hardness, durability and incredible long bath life. You will truly be amazed how a bar of soap can be so good for you, produce such a creamy, rich lather, and still last as long as it does.

It absorbs quickly, is non-greasy and is very soothing for skin conditions like rosacea and sebborheic dermatitiis. Studies have shown that jojoba oil can even inhibit the growth of certain types of bacteria associated with acne. We use jojoba oil in our Beeswax Hand Creams.
Beeswax - Beeswax is one of nature's most perfect products. We use beeswax in our products for it's hydrating properties. Beeswax is used widely in cosmetics because of compounds called "wax ethers" that are found in human skin as well. Beeswax is an all natural skin protectant and conditioner.
